Many turn their backs on places and people who brought them up, especially if they are shanty and problems they seem endless. Mambo, King Labash, the strength of being not an ordinary person, gave him a reason not to give up.
“ I no have education. I have inspiration. If I was educated I would be a damn fool. ”
This extremely rich words of Bob Marley made me decide to start telling my story through music. Music which made me survive, which created food for my family and which made me a true and honest, spiritual person. A person who steps out of a ghetto life where no day is easy. Chitungwiza – Chi Town- the place where I grew up in Zimbabwe, my heart, my soul.
By creating the first steps of the Zimdance hall music I realized I could bring a way out. What was supposed to be a way out became also a way to inspire youngsters to desist from drug abuse and street life. To create a better future for the nation because youngsters are our hope and future.
